I guess that says it all.  My immune system has come out of bottles since high school.  Both parents passed from separate immune deficiencies, and I inherited both their problems.  I'm allergic to most foods -- a meal normal for anyone else puts me in bed for 3 days.  The long-term steroids don't work that well on me.  The spring allergy season is upon us --- last year I was in hospital 6 days in May.   (I desperately wanted to leave after 3 days, but the bastards wouldn't let me go.  AND were physically insistent about it.  That place is HELL, and I will rather die than submit myself to their version of "caring" again.)

So this is just to say,  I wish I felt well enough to respond to people's stories -- Heck, I wish I felt well enough to do the laundry, or get groceries.  Any of those activities is a monumental effort of will these days.  "Assisted living" is a cruel joke -- it is actually prolonging dying.  "Quality of Life," people?  Or is it more important that the various organizations wring every last cent out of your life-time accumulated assets?

So if you expected to hear from me, and you don't, it's not because I've lost interest, but because personal health is pretty much out of my control.  We all have our exits, and while we may see the strong foreshadowings, no one really knows the hour.

But in the meanwhile, humor is always good........

Major storm front pushing a lot of air pollution through -- if you get the right weather maps, you can see the grey.

All day with headache & major gut uproar.  The air pollution (NOT C02) is killing us.

The new dog (Chipper) has been a sweety, even though she has allergies too, and poor weepy eyes.

Well, after 6 weeks of depression and driving my girlfriends crazy by phone, I gave up and went to a dog rescue outfit to adopt a Significant Other.  She was supposed to be a mixed breed with hybrid vigor, but turned out to be a full blooded Rat Terrier with Major Allergies.  Just like me.  Just like my last 2 dogs.  Unfortunately, I am too sick myself to take care of another Major Allergy dog beside just getting the usual Allergy Dog Food from the vet, along with steroid injections, (neither of which work that well, when the pup has already developed allergies by 1 year.)

With the house falling down around my ears due to deferred maintenance due to no time due to caring for my last allergic dog (which I did gladly, because she was family) home cooking for a new allergic dog is not a viable option.

In fact, I was so exhausted taking care of the new dog the other day, that I threw supper back in the freezer and just had a carrot and 3 hand-fulls of dry dog food.  (Hey, it was "Wellness" at $3.00 a pound.  Actually tasted reasonably good.)

Bad News:  My Dog Died.

Theoretical Good News:  Now that I am not using three-quarters of my energy and half my time keeping her reasonably healthy as I have for the last year, I theoretically can catch up on all the "deferred maintenance" around the house.

Bad News:  Haven't the heart to do any of it.

Re: Birthday present

Last month you requested good Naruto fic. Sorry I'm late. "Fallen Leaves" is a collaborative writing journal with top-flight story tellers -- JBMcDragon has even had two e-books published. Major character development, wry humor, drama, missions, friendship, long-slow courtships, yaoi -- the writing quality is *better* than most currently published-on-paper books. My favorite characters are Raidou and Genma, Kakashi, Tsume (Inuzuka by a writer who *knows* canines) Ryouma, Ginta --- plenty others you may like as well.

Story (Thread) Index: http://fallenadmins.insanejournal.com/733.html

(If the Index link won't work, go through the profile link.)

From the Index page, try these first for stories that stand alone well:

1. Mission: "Three is a Crowd...." Etc. (Genma, Raidou, Tsume)

2. Mission: "Sacred Lines" (& continued "chapters") (Raidou & Tsume) http://asylums.insanejournal.com/fallen_leaves/27296.html

3. "Winner Picks Dinner" (Genma & Raidou) (It *wasn't* a date..... They were partners. You just didn't *think* of your partner that way....)
http://asylums.insanejournal.com/fallen_leaves/33548.html

4. "Mission of Doom" Starts with "Drunk on Dreams" with continued chapters. (I *really* loved it once Kakashi showed up.....)

Really , this is a fanfic of professional quality.  Too many excellent story lines to list.  Fantastic writers like DarkSideofStorm, JBMcDragon, Nezuko, Kilerkki.

Found a reason to write in this thing.    (It's easier than Outlook Express.)

Found spellcheck.

There's no spell check on this thing?  How potentially embarassing.
